Temporary scaffolding is an invasive species in both Seoul and New York. For NICEWORKSHOP, however, it serves as creative inspiration rather than a walking hazard.
The 'Umbrella' honors the temporary armature: the structure reveals itself to perform a specific function, then disappears once that function is fulfilled. To highlight these otherwise unseen mechanics, NICEWORKSHOP uses a transparent canopy that leaves the umbrella’s innards exposed.
