Designer Gloria Im graduated with a BFA in fashion design before beginning her work under the pseudonym "gsongim." Her studio is in New York's Lower East Side, a brief walk from our storefront on Orchard St. Not just our neighbor, Gloria is a pillar of the Komune community. She creates bespoke apparel, accessories, and home goods using leather, durable wovens, and premium metals. Gloria prioritizes utility. Her work is meant to be used relentlessly, its form molding to the owner. Gloria frequently draws inspiration from organic forms, but renders them in dark tones. The result is a paradoxically macabre aesthetic.
