CMMAWEAR
Gizmo rarely reproduces a reference indiscriminately. Like many menswear designers, he lifts individual details from vintage workwear references, but reworks them through patterns that feel distinctly CMMAWEAR. Since founding the brand in 2020, Giz has developed a number of recognizable hero construction details that reappear each season. For AW26, these signatures return in particularly strong material palettes: batwing paneling, 3D darting, and tuxedo collars.

About
Co-founded by Giz Moon and Val Choi in 2020, CMMAWEAR clothing functions like a comma in a sentence; an impetus for pause. A portmanteau of “comma” and “wear,” the name carries a dual meaning: CMMAWEAR invites the wearer to become aware of the relationship between body and garment.
A 2000-year old proverb, originally meant to describe the architecture of Paekche (百濟), one of the three ancient kingdoms of Korea – 儉而不陋 華而不侈: Simplicity without plainness, refined but not excessive – inspires CMMAWEAR’s latest collection. CMMAWEAR’s signature attention to functional details and uncompromising materiality brings a nuanced modern twist to classic military silhouettes, each garment an open invitation to enjoy a newly seamless wearing experience informed by decades of wearing and collecting clothes that could be just a little bit better.
