The Work Explained
For Ko Leung, Group Show 2 was an enabler. Still in its earliest stages and yet to release a debut collection, Ko Leung viewed the project as a chance to nurture many of the early ideas they were forced to cancel as they grew. With this pragmatic approach, Ko Leung chose to revive the Woodstock Coat, which they initially abandoned due to cost.

About Ko Leung
Ko Leung is a British design studio founded by Dylan Leung and Ruby Sida, both graduates of Central Saint Martins. Based in the British countryside, the brand draws from its quiet rhythms and landscapes to ground its cultural storytelling. While rooted in traditional menswear detailing, Ko Leung integrates womenswear-coded techniques and sensitive pattern-cutting to reframe menswear with slower, more nuanced narratives.

The Process
The coat was recut from the short blazer pattern in Ko Leung’s debut collection. Its patterning details are deliberately subtle, further softened by the choice of salt-and-pepper bouclé wool, whose textured surface conceals the seams.

"We were particularly drawn to this year's Group Show prompt as Ko Leung itself is in its earliest stages of life. While we carefully nurture the start of Ko Leung, we are often taken far from the creative processes that we were promised; this prompt was a reminder that the growing pains are still beautiful."
