The Work Explained
This series extends Octi's jewelry practice into objects that live off the body yet maintain intimacy through touch and interaction. Octi originally went to art school for sculpture, and her contributions for Group Show 2 recall her earlier sculptural works, now transposed into silver. Both invite the hand to engage—burning incense, striking a lighter—echoing the tactile connections central to Octi's jewelry.

About Octi
Octi is a London-based designer who primarily works in jewelry under the eponymous label Octi. Sculpting organic shapes in wax and casting them into precious metals, Octi captures fragments of nature's forms, textures, and patterns, translating them into wearable sculptures that serve as reminders of our connection to the natural world.

The Process
Octi hand-sculpted each piece in wax, shaping them with melting and carving techniques, to achieve organic, amorphous forms. They were then cast into solid silver using a wax casting method, preserving the intricacies of the hand-sculpted originals.

"I thought back to the sculptures / designs I made at university, which were larger and included designs centered around scent. I chose to work in silver - the material I work with now, but to create objects that exist off the body, but invite a lot of interaction with hands and relate to scent."
