The Work Explained
Chitiner engaged the prompt both literally—by revisiting its first design—and abstractly, framing revision as a form of metamorphosis. The works evoke the gradual growth of transformation, embodying a quiet power in their stillness and intention.

About Chitiner
Chitiner is a jewelry label based in Suzhou that honors nature by incorporating preserved beetle remains as gemstones. This preservation becomes a literal crystallization of nature's beauty. Each piece is inherently unique, shaped by the distinctive qualities of its organic materials.

The Process
Eclosion K was hand-sculpted from nearly a year's supply of chitin filler, then finished with eight layers of lacquer. The handmade production results in grooves and bumps that give the piece an organic intricacy. Clone reimagines an early Chitiner design, fusing dual chitin elements into an open form inspired by vines and gourds.
"For us, "rebirth" means the quiet accumulation of energy and inevitable transformation. We respond to this through sculptural pieces that hold power in stillness and intention."
