Why we made the ring
We made rings in our first year working on Komune to commemorate the work and time we had put in as a team. To us, rings have always symbolized memory and celebration, so we continued the tradition for our opening day. Now, it feels like we're celebrating much more than just ourselves, and it only felt right to share this tradition with our community. We're really excited that the proceeds from this ring will help make Group Show, as a series, the best it can be. Thank you so much for being part of our journey.
About Komune
Ngl I feel like this statement changes every few months. We're always trying to redefine who we are and how we can best represent the designers we work with—while creating a place in LES and beyond that feels educational, exciting, and fun. Hopefully, we can keep that spirit alive…
The process
As usual, Brandon started with his drawings and gathered feedback from the team. This year, we wanted our rings to feel more refined and professional, so we worked with friends on the initial render. In true Komune style, the first sample and concept didn't work out—we ended up changing everything last minute. Our first design was a bit too tame; I think the pressure of hoping others would like it influenced us. But we're so much happier with the final version.
